GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs GeForce RTX 2060
Measured verdict
- GTX 1080 Ti is 10% faster at 1080p Medium (110.2 vs 100.5 FPS)
- GTX 1080 Ti is 20% faster at 1080p Ultra (66.4 vs 55.5 FPS)
- GTX 1080 Ti is 25% faster at 1440p Ultra (50.2 vs 40.1 FPS)
Tom's Hardware GPU hierarchy, 2022–24 suite, read 5 Oct 2026. Average FPS, the geometric mean of eight games — Borderlands 3, Far Cry 6, Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Total War: Warhammer 3, Watch Dogs Legion — on a Core i9-12900K.
The older card is the faster one: Tom's Hardware's 2022–24 suite puts the GTX 1080 Ti 20% ahead of the RTX 2060 at 1080p Ultra and 25% ahead at 1440p Ultra; ComputerBase's GTA V test (maximum detail, 4x MSAA) has it 35% ahead, 95.8 to 71.2 FPS, and TechSpot's Red Dead Redemption 2 test 17% ahead, 84 to 72. Support cuts both ways. The RTX 2060 has ray-tracing hardware, so it runs Gears of War: E-Day, which lists it among the minimum cards and which the 1080 Ti cannot run, and it is above CD PROJEKT RED's minimum for The Witcher 3 Remastered, which the 1080 Ti is below. The 1080 Ti's 11 GB of video memory clears the 8 GB minimum of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor; the 2060's 6 GB does not.

Game by game
A game we hold a benchmark table for is shown at that table’s settings. A card the table measured shows its measured number, the same on every page; a card it didn’t is fitted: placed between the measured cards either side of it in speed, so it is also the same on every page. The gap is shown only where both cards were measured.

Fitted and modelled figures are estimates; frame generation is never counted. How is this calculated?
300+ FPS: This is the graphics card's limit. The game's own frame cap or your CPU will often set the real number.
