Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The short version. GamerSpecs has no accounts and no sign-up. We never ask for your name, your email or your payment details, and we do not sell personal information. The calculators run in your browser. What the site does have is an anonymous pageview counter, Google Analytics, and a third-party advertising tag — all three are described in full below, with the opt-outs.
Who runs this site
GamerSpecs (gamerspecs.com) is an independently operated website. It is not owned by a game publisher, a hardware manufacturer or a media group. For any privacy question, including a request to delete something you sent us, write to contact@gamerspecs.com — that address is read by the person who runs the site.
Information you give us
The only place on GamerSpecs where you can send us anything is the feedback form. It is deliberately anonymous: there is no name field, no email field and no account. When you submit it we store three things — the message you typed, the optional page reference you typed, and a two-letter country code supplied by our hosting provider — together with the time of submission. If you open the form from “Wrong result? Tell us” under a Can-I-Run result, it also sends what that result showed: the game, the graphics card, processor, RAM and Windows version you picked, and the verdict. The form shows them to you before you send.
Because there is no reply address, a feedback submission is one-way. Please do not type personal information into it. If you did and you want it removed, email us the wording and we will delete the record.
Information collected automatically
Our own pageview counter. Every page runs a small beacon that reports which page was viewed. It sends a random session identifier, the path you are on, whether this is the first view of the session, and — only on the first view of a session that arrived from another website — the hostname of the site you came from (for example bing.com), never the full link. The session identifier is generated in your browser, lives in sessionStorage, and is destroyed when you close the tab. A two-letter country code is added by our hosting provider at the network edge. We do not store your IP address, we set no cookie for this, and there is no fingerprinting. Live-visitor rows are deleted 30 minutes after the last activity. What remains is counts — views, sessions, per-page, per-country and per-referring-host totals for a day — and those are deleted after 180 days.
To keep automated traffic out of those counts, our server checks each report as it arrives: whether the browser's user agent names a known crawler, whether the network it comes from belongs to a data centre, and whether the browser says it is automated. A page that closes without ever having been on screen is counted as automated too. Only the answer, person or bot, decides which counter goes up; the user agent and the network are not stored.
The Discord pop-up. When the small “Join our Discord” card is shown, joined or closed, the same counter adds 1 for that day and that kind of page (a game page, a GPU page, and so on), with the same person-or-bot check; nothing else is recorded. For people only, Google Analytics receives the same event. The card links to Discord's invite page; nothing is sent to Discord unless you open it.
Google Analytics 4. The site loads Google Analytics (property G-1G26D2ER2X). Google sets its own cookies and receives information including your IP address, device and browser, approximate location, and the pages you visit. That processing is governed by Google's terms, described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can block it site-wide with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising. Advertising on GamerSpecs is delivered by WeForAds, whose tag (weforads.com/tag/…) loads on every public page. WeForAds and the demand partners it connects to — which include Google advertising products and a number of other advertising exchanges, all named in our ads.txt file — may set and read cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies in order to choose an ad, limit how often you see it, and measure whether it worked. That can include showing you ads based on your activity on other websites.
Hosting. The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes network-level request data (including your IP address) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
What stays in your browser
These are stored on your own device by the site's own features. They are never transmitted to us and never shared:
theme— whether you chose light or dark mode.gs:audience— whether you picked PC, console or mobile in the header switcher.gs:rigcheckandgd:rig— the GPU, CPU, RAM and OS you typed into a calculator, so you do not have to retype them on the next tool.gd:favorites— games you starred.gs:sid— the random per-tab session identifier described above.gs:discord-popup— when you closed the Discord pop-up or joined from it, so it stays away for 14 or 180 days, and how many times you closed it (after three it stops for good). Thegs:dp-entries insessionStoragecount the pages of your visit so it shows at most once, and are destroyed when you close the tab.gs:nocount— set only when the site's owner marks their own browser not to be counted; the beacon then sends nothing from it.
Clearing your browser's site data for gamerspecs.com removes all of them.
Cookies and consent
GamerSpecs sets no cookies of its own. The cookies you will find on this domain belong to Google Analytics and to the advertising partners named above. We do not currently operate our own cookie-consent banner. If you want to limit that processing you can do it directly, and these controls work whether or not we ask you:
- Turn off personalised Google ads at Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of many advertising vendors at once via YourAdChoices (DAA) and the NAI opt-out.
- Block or delete third-party cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker.
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Nothing on GamerSpecs sits behind a login, so blocking all of the above does not stop you using any part of the site.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal data about you, to object to processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority. In the EEA and the UK, the legal basis for our own pageview counting and for keeping the site secure is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. The analytics and advertising cookies set by the third parties above are their processing, and the opt-outs in the previous section are the direct route to controlling them.
An honest caveat about exercising those rights with us: we hold no account, no email address and no identifier that maps to a person, so in almost every case there is nothing on file that we could find, export or delete for you. The one exception is a feedback submission, which we will delete if you send us the wording. For data held by Google or by the advertising partners, their own policies and tools apply.
California residents
We do not sell personal information for money and never have. Under the CCPA/CPRA, letting advertising partners set cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising can count as sharing personal information, and that is what the advertising described above does. You can stop it with the opt-out links under "Cookies and consent", with a browser-level Global Privacy Control signal, or by emailing us.
Children
GamerSpecs is a general-audience PC hardware site. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is nothing here for a child to submit — but if you believe a feedback message came from a child and contains personal details, email us and we will remove it.
Where data goes
The site is served from a global edge network, and the analytics and advertising providers named above operate internationally, including in the United States. Using the site involves data being processed in countries other than your own.
Changes to this policy
When the mechanics described here change — a new analytics provider, a different ad partner, a consent banner — this page is updated in the same change and the date at the top moves. Material changes are also listed on our site and data changelog.
