A destruction-driven 5v5 tactical shooter where breaching walls, ceilings and floors is as important as your aim.
Rainbow Six Siege pits a team of attackers against a team of defenders in tense, one-life rounds built around fully destructible environments. Every operator brings a unique gadget, and reading the enemy through breached walls, drones and reinforced hatches matters as much as raw gunplay. Its AnvilNext engine is one of the best-optimized in the genre, running on Vulkan with a built-in Render Scaling slider that is the single biggest lever on frame rate — letting the game hold very high, stable FPS across a huge range of hardware.
Built for competitive players who want the highest frame rate and lowest input latency.
The esports profile. Render Scaling stays near 100 for crisp enemy outlines while shadows, reflections and post effects are cut to the floor for the highest, most stable frame rate.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Display Mode | Fullscreen | Exclusive fullscreen gives the lowest input latency. |
| Graphics API | Vulkan | Best frame pacing on most modern GPUs. |
| V-Sync | OFF | — |
| Render Scaling | 100 | The single biggest FPS control — drop toward 60–80 on weaker GPUs; keep at 100 for sharp enemy outlines. |
| Field of View | 90 | Wider peripheral vision for spotting flanks. |
| Texture Quality | High | Sharper operator silhouettes at range. |
| Texture Filtering | Linear | — |
| LOD Quality | Low | — |
| Shadow Quality | Low | Large FPS win with little competitive downside. |
| Reflection Quality | Low | — |
| Ambient Occlusion | OFF | Expensive and adds no competitive value. |
| Lens Effects | OFF | — |
| Zoom-in Depth of Field | OFF | — |
| Anti-Aliasing | T-AA | Clean edges for cheap; no DLSS in Siege. |
Maximum visual fidelity for players who prefer the best-looking image.
Maximum fidelity with full shadows, reflections and ambient occlusion. Siege is efficient enough that capable GPUs still hold high frame rates even here.
| Setting | Value | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Display Mode | Fullscreen | — |
| Graphics API | Vulkan | — |
| V-Sync | ON | Removes tearing when frames exceed refresh. |
| Render Scaling | 100 | Push above 100 to supersample if you have GPU headroom. |

The sweet spot between frame rate and visuals. Drag the slider to shift the balance.
Keeps the game looking sharp with fuller shadows and reflections while holding onto most of Siege's excellent frame rate. A comfortable everyday default.

How is this calculated?Safe, technically-sound tips to get the most out of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.
Render Scaling is your master FPS dial — lower it before touching anything else, then raise it back toward 100 once you have frames to spare.
Prefer the Vulkan API for smoother frame pacing on most modern GPUs; switch to DirectX 11 only if you hit a driver-specific issue.
Keep Texture Quality high (VRAM permitting) so operator silhouettes stay easy to identify at range.
Cap your frame rate just below your monitor's refresh rate to keep frame times consistent and input latency low.
Turn off Ambient Occlusion and Lens Effects for a clean, cheap image with no competitive downside.
Enable your GPU's low-latency mode (NVIDIA Reflex / AMD Anti-Lag) for a measurable input-latency reduction.
