GeForce GTX 1080 Ti vs GeForce RTX 4060
Measured verdict
- RTX 4060 is 29% faster at 1080p Medium (110.2 vs 142.3 FPS)
- RTX 4060 is 28% faster at 1080p Ultra (66.4 vs 84.9 FPS)
- RTX 4060 is 22% faster at 1440p Ultra (50.2 vs 61.2 FPS)
- RTX 4060 is 8% faster at 4K Ultra (29.5 vs 31.9 FPS)
Tom's Hardware GPU hierarchy, 2022–24 suite, read 5 Oct 2026. Average FPS, the geometric mean of eight games — Borderlands 3, Far Cry 6, Flight Simulator, Forza Horizon 5, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Total War: Warhammer 3, Watch Dogs Legion — on a Core i9-12900K.
Tom's Hardware's 2022–24 suite has the RTX 4060 28% faster at 1080p Ultra (84.9 vs 66.4 FPS), but the gap narrows as the resolution rises: 22% at 1440p Ultra and 8% at 4K Ultra (31.9 vs 29.5 FPS). The 1080 Ti has the larger, faster memory: 11 GB at 484 GB/s against the 4060's 8 GB at 272 GB/s. It is also below CD PROJEKT RED's minimum for The Witcher 3 Remastered and has no ray-tracing hardware for DOOM: The Dark Ages; the 4060 runs both.

Specs
Game by game
A game we hold a benchmark table for is shown at that table’s settings. A card the table measured shows its measured number, the same on every page; a card it didn’t is fitted: placed between the measured cards either side of it in speed, so it is also the same on every page. The gap is shown only where both cards were measured.
Modelled rows have no benchmark table: GamerSpecs estimates at 1080p, each game at its own page settings. They all share one ratio: our calibrated scores put the RTX 4060 at 1.19× the GTX 1080 Ti (100 vs 84, RTX 4060 = 100), so a row differs only where the game’s own limit applies.
