About Clash of Clans

Clash of Clans is a strategy base-builder where you grow a village, train troops and raid other players in Clan Wars. It is a 2D, low-demand title that runs smoothly at 60 FPS on almost any phone, so there is very little to configure graphically — the only real visual toggle is a low-graphics / reduced-quality mode for older or lower-end devices. Because performance is rarely the issue, the profiles here focus on the things that actually matter for a base-builder: battery drain, mobile-data usage and keeping the game healthy in the background between attacks.

Best mobile settings

Three curated profiles — max FPS for competitive, balanced, and HD graphics.

War / Push Ready

Not about FPS — CoC is already smooth everywhere. This profile keeps the app responsive and reliable during Clan War attacks, where a dropped connection can cost a three-star.

Optimization tips

  • 1

Clash of Clans is capped at 60 FPS and runs there on almost any phone — chasing higher frame rates does nothing, so optimize for battery and data instead.

  • 2

On an older or budget phone, the in-game Low Graphics mode is the one toggle that meaningfully improves scrolling smoothness.

  • 3

For Clan War attacks, play on stable Wi-Fi — a dropped connection mid-raid can cost you the three-star.

  • 4

Turn off Background App Refresh for CoC to stop it sipping battery and data between sessions; you lose nothing but idle drain.

  • 5

Its tiny data footprint makes CoC ideal for mobile data, but enabling Wi-Fi-only play avoids any surprise usage while travelling.
