About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 became a showcase for current-gen consoles after its overhaul. On PS5 and Xbox Series X you choose between a 60fps Performance mode and a 30fps Ray Tracing mode with reflections and path-traced-style lighting; the PS5 Pro pushes higher resolution with PSSR. Series S keeps the 60fps and 30fps options at a lower resolution and reduced RT. The last-gen PS4/Xbox One versions run a locked 30fps at a reduced resolution but remain playable. HDR, VRR and 120Hz support make it one of the best-looking console RPGs when paired with the right TV.
Best display & mode settings
- 1On PS5/Series X, use Performance mode for combat and driving — the 60fps makes aiming and traffic far smoother.
- 2Switch to Ray Tracing mode for photo mode and slow exploration where 30fps is fine and the lighting shines.
- 3Enable VRR if your TV supports it — it smooths the small dips both modes can have in dense crowds.
- 4Turn on HDR and run the in-game HDR calibration; Night City's neon is the game's whole aesthetic.
- 5On Series S, expect a lower resolution — Performance mode is still the better everyday choice.
